Beloslav - the municipality, which has contributed to perfection for the program “Environment”

The experience of the Municipality of Beloslav was presented at a forum, held in Sofia on 3 Dec, 2009, for the realization of the “Environment 2007 - 2013″ operative program, proved to be a very good practice. Currently, 29 projects in total are being carried out for construction under the program “Environment”, where the project of Beloslav was defined as leading, according to quality of execution. The Mayor of Beloslav, Mr. Emil Dichev presented their project “Construction of sewerage and collector system as an expansion to the existing town Wastewater Treatment Plant and Water Supply System of Beloslav” to the 150 attending representatives of Bulgarian Municipalities. The project is worth a total of approximately BGN 22 mn and it covers areas owned by Eurolink Investment Group and its project The Pinewood. It provides for the completion of the sewerage and replacement of all old water-mains with new ones, which would turn Beloslav into the first Bulgarian town with an entirely completed integrated water cycle. With the purpose of improving the proceedings for the operative program, Mr. Dichev suggested that the procedures and documentation turnover from the project reporting are simplified and an electronic reporting is introduced. The other proposals were related to the increase in the administrative capacity for the program management and the shortening of the time limits for verification and payment of completed expenditure.
The Pinewood is set in a secluded location, on a hill, overlooking the Sea Lake and surrounded by a pine forest. It will be part of a small development by Eurolink Investment Group, consisting of about 25 units, some detached and some semi-detached. There will be planted gardens, communal swimming pools, communal gym and communal medical facilities.
